What Is Mindfulness?
What Is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness seems to be everywhere these days. Mindful apps, mindful food, mindful shampoo, mindful everything. But what is it really? Mindfulness is the awareness of what is going on in the present moment. We can be mindful of our emotions, we can be mindful of our footsteps, we can be mindful of our speech, of our actions, of our thoughts.
2,600 years ago, Siddhartha Gautama, a teacher known as the Buddha, taught mindfulness as a mean of understanding and transforming pain and suffering into understanding and joy.
